Directly centered within the gas crunch, Mercedes-Benz released the first 300 series in 1976 as a sedan on the W123 platform. An immediate superstar, waiting lists quickly grew as Americans couldn’t get enough of them. Two years later, the Benz corporation releases the 300TD (aka touring diesel) station wagon. Then another two years later in 1980, they release the turbo TD and in 1981 the sedan gets the turbo. By 1985, Mercedes-Benz ceases production for the US after nearly 500k 300 series examples were made. They are as well-known for reliability and high mileage competence…with many examples breaking the 1 million mile mark.

Today we present to you a completely stock low mileage naturally aspirated diesel 300 wagon. Originally from Japan there have been only two owners since new. It was recently imported from a reputable dealer, of which we have featured/sold several other cars and have had nothing but great reviews after the new buyers took delivery. With only 49k miles (79k kms showing), this 300TD is on track to hit its 1 million mark sometime in late 2736. You should be good as long as 14″ tire sizes are available in 700 years. The current seller has added approximately 3000 kms during the last 3 months and performed several service items during that break-in period, including an engine tune-up, rebuilt the A/C compressor, installed a new fan clutch and new battery. This 300TD comes with a clean clear PA title in the seller’s name. Shipping and financial assistance is available.
Outside, the light ivory (#623) exterior appears to be in very good condition overall with no paint oxidation. We see no evidence of paintwork or body work being needed. The panels all appear to be aligned properly. The chrome, including the luggage rails, and rubber all show very nicely.
The tailgate area, bulkhead and inside the fuel filler door all appear quite tidy with no visible rust or corrosion. The original 14″ Bundt alloy wheels present in very good condition and the tires are showing plenty of tread life left.
Inside the interior presents clean and tidy. The front seats have been replaced with seemingly more comfortable Recaro reclining seats covered in near matching cloth material. The dash and wood accents show no visible signs of aging. All of the early 1980’s luxury await inside, including power windows, windshield wipers, dome lights, heater fan controls and hazard lights. Other than an aftermarket radio, all appears to be as original as it was in 1981.
The carpet shows very well throughout, and no visible tears or stains are seen in the carpet or the seats. The headliner is in good shape as well. This one is equipped with a third row rear facing bench seat to bring total carrying capacity to 7 passengers. The seat can be folded down if not needed.
Most of these wagons have been lost to the rust yards. Fortunately the seller states this one is rust free. The self-leveling suspension is fully functional and was serviced upon arrival. The vehicle comes with manuals and partial service records.

THE LARGE PRINT GIVITH AND THE SMALL PRINT TAKETH AWAY.
The seller states,”unmodified original condition.” The pictures show Recaro seats, as confirmed in the interior text. You can’t have it both ways. Non Stock seats detract from the value–no matter how “eemingly more comfortable” they are.

Have the same question about the mileage @tkrvhn ; is the car open or able to be shown?
@autohaus, see our response below … And yes, car is available for viewing. Located in PA, let us know if you would like to make arrangements.
Can the history of two owners and mileage be verified?
the seller has a copy of the Japanese export certificate and partial service records. According to the seller, the certificate showing the owners and the service records can verify (at least in part) the mileage. Hope this helps.
