The iconic Defender was made by Land Rover from 1983 – 2016. The “Defender” moniker, though, didn’t actually come into view until 1991, when Land Rover needed to distinguish it from the incoming Discovery. In the U.S. however, we did not have the pleasure of such vehicles until 1993. Land Rover of North America approved the importation of 500 Defender 110’s for the 1993 model year, all numbered and badged on the right rear. Following that ’93 run, in 1994 the 2-door Defender 90 version rolled ashore. Less than 7000 Defender 90’s were imported into North America in 1994 – 1997 and became known as the NAS ‘North American Spec’ (also numbered on rear badges) trucks.
NAS Defenders had to meet specific US EPA guidelines so some differences do exist between same model year ROW (rest of world) and NAS Defenders. The One Ten (110) represents the 110″ wheelbase length. The earlier ROW trucks differ from the later NAS examples mostly in engine and drivetrain components and lack of an internal roll cage. Very little changed in the 10 years prior to seeing them stateside. In fact, very little changed at all, ever.
Second Daily is proud to offer this 1992 Land Rover Defender 110 in Arles Blue, showing approximately 158k miles. The current seller has owned the vehicle for 5 years, and it was recently imported in 2019 when he returned from the UK. No accidents were reported under his ownership. It ships from Virginia with a clean clear VA title in the seller’s name.

The seller reports the exterior to be in great shape. A few notable small minor dings but overall, the body wears well for its age. The seller did have the vehicle painted under his ownership. A new bulkhead was installed in 2018, front doors were repaired and the second row are new, in addition to new rear quarter panels/cappings, door hinges and a windshield. The seller reports the chassis and rear crossmember to be in good condition with a previous patch.
The frame was previously noted to have some surface rusting and former waxoyl treatment, which some peeling can be seen now. It is reported to have no current holes or corrosion.
The interior presents quite well. The seller replaced both battery and tool boxes and had the interior painted. Later model seats were added to the front, and the second row retain their originality. The dash has some minor blemishes, but otherwise looks to be in fine condition. The headliner is intact, and rear seating accomodates a few more passengers. Some spots of surface rusting can be seen in a few areas inside, but the seller reports it all to be very solid.
Seller notes the vehicle needs a rear flange seal and he is scheduling to have that replaced.

Great looking truck, did you ever sell your defender?
What was the reserve? Obviously going to bid as low as possible. Not going to bid against myself. No second offer?
Tried to bid. System wouldn’t let me. I’m guessing it wasn’t just me considering this had zero bids. Very frustrating. Sorry to the seller.
