Two generations of the Scout were produced, the first ran from 1961-1971 (80/800 series) and the second from 1971-1980 (Scout II).  The original Scout is much more agricultural than its replacement…that’s not to be a negative statement, just a declarative one.

The Scout II was visually similar to the first gen with a few design changes (bigger for one) and creature comforts like disc brakes, better heating, optional air conditioning, rear seating and radio.  Can’t have the owners getting too soft you know.  We found this one being offered for sale in Grand Rapids, Michigan through GR Auto Gallery.  See below for notes from the seller.

From the seller: This is a one owner, highly original, well cared for Scout, sold new by Swigarts Garage of Zenia, OH. It has been driven just 33,956 miles since new and remained with the original owner until their recent acquisition. With the exception of one repaint in the original factory color, Chestnut Brown with gold graphics, the truck remains completely original.

Features include gold spoke wheels, removable hardtop, original Beige deluxe interior, power steering, power brakes, factory deluxe air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, bucket seats, center console, sliding rear side glass, turned aluminum dash face, near perfect dash pad, near perfect headliner, excellent carpet, and deluxe exterior trim package.

The optional 345 V8 engine runs excellent and has the optional automatic transmission with T145 two-speed transfer case.  Cosmetically, the vehicle stands tall in all areas. The Chestnut Brown exterior shows excellent, the original interior is wonderful, the original engine compartment and original undercarriage both show very nice and is consistent with age and use.

Mechanically, this one starts right up with no smoke and drives out excellent. Services include brakes at all four corners, wheel bearings, charging system, plugs, wires, cap rotor, all fluids, most recently new belts, lube, oil and filter

About 70 more high-res pictures are available through the seller at GR Auto Gallery.  And if this one doesn’t strike your fancy, they have a ’62 in what appears to be cherry condition.
